A man is appreciated...
A friend told me yesterday (in hebrew):
Adam nishpat lefi Kiso, Koso, Vekaaso.
translation:
A man is appreciated by his pocket, his glass, and his anger (rhymes in hebrew).
It means that you can see what person he is by how he acts when:
He has to pay (Kiso).
He's drunk (Koso).
He's angry (Kaaso).
Makes you think about the human race... doesn't it?

hmmm,
I guess you can appreciate someone tipping a waiter. Does that mean that you don't appreciate the opposite behavior?
I just don't like to see someone judged by his or her actions. No one knows what situation someone else is in to judge. I feel we are all equals on this earth, that no one is better than another person.
I also read your other post where you said you served for a few years. I think it's a very good thing for young people to give back to their country. I would like to see America learn from Israel and have high school graduates serve a 2 year program either in the military or serving in some other type of service for the community as a whole.
I have been very sad about the direction our country is headed in. This is a very scary time, I feel it will get alot worse before it gets better that is if it does.
I wish for a safe and healthy 2005, Jan
I didn't mean that a man is judged by what he pulls out of his pocket, i meant that he is appreciated by the WAY he does that.
i think that the media is sometimes stronger than the content.
about the army: it was a horrible but educational experience. i could write about the times i was stuck with my back against the wall all night, but won't beacuse it is not important anymore. i learned my lessons about mankind and the israeli socienty, and now it is time to forget what really happened and sink into the sweet bottoms of nostalgia. it's really important to give something back to your country, but sometimes (not my case) you do somehting that is totally useless, which resolts in bitter, angry people. also, many people don't want to help, and end up ruining everything for us all.
